i am 3 weeks pregnant i’ve been having backpain ,but it only aches in certain spots ,is this from pregnancy?does it suppose to feel this way?

In approximately 80% of women who are pregnant, back pain is prevalent. Back pain and the causes in pregnant patients are not entirely understood. Therefore, the treatment recommendations are poor. By educating both the physician and the patient, treatment options can be improved.

yes i would say over half has the back pains but it waits till the moving days so get checked by doctor.

Backpain can start anytime during pregnancy. You’re 3 weeks pregnant?! And you already know?! Wow!
Congratulations…anyway…the backpain was nothing extravagant for me. It never hurt EXTREMELY bad until I was about 7 months pregnant and so on. When your breats and your belly grow at an alarming rate, your back is bound to take the brunt of it.

yup thats one of the joys of pregnancy. Im going through it with you. and if its anything like my first pregnancy dont count on it getting any better. if its unbearable talk to your doctor. mine was going to put me on a painkiller to help with it, but lucky me im allergic. and the doc will give you something that is safe for your baby. and CONGRATS, becoming a mother is the greatest joy ever. our children are our greatest gifts.

I had a lot of backpain later on in the pregnancy mainly from the weight of my huge belly. I suffer from scoliosis anyway, but only in my upper spine. My lower back started feeling crappy at about month 6 with my first one, about the same with my 2nd. Hope this helps!

Nope, back pain doesn’t start that early. Not pregnancy caused back pain anyway.
Back pain begins later in pregnancy when the weight of the baby puts an extra strain on your back. The baby’s position can also affect how your back is feeling, as the pressure of the baby’s head on the bottom of your spine can cause some pain.
I thought I had back pain when I was 7 weeks pregnant. I thought I had nausea, and a belly, and all that jazz. I realized when I was enormous, and overheated, and throwing up, and in labor with excruciating back pain – - – that I was just imagining I felt that way because I wanted to feel pregnant. Don’t worry – you will feel VERY pregnant, soon. Try not to rush it. Its a beautiful process – but very uncomfortable sometimes.

You have to remember your body is going through changes constantly to sustain this new life.
You may feel cramping and pulling pains through out your pregnancy.Sometimes soaking in a warm- NOT HOT tub can relieve some of those aches.[ as long as you have no risk factors,ie urinary tract infection, vaginal infection]
If anyhting feels uncomfortable even after rest,you need to speak with your doctor or midwife.

Some times you can get back pains from the expanding utersu pressing on your spine and at other times you’ll get back pains becasue the baby as it grows is sitting on your spine. IF you have severe back pain when you’re near term don’t ingnore it it could be labor, with all three of my daughters the labor started as back pain and than moved to the front. So if you’re close to your due date and start to have severe back pains you need to contact your doctor.

Yes, remember when pregnancy starts our body must prepare all of it to carry an extra weight , in bones, waist,expanded stomach, legs, etc.. These are the first back-pains that disappears between month 3-5, and then when baby begins to get more weight and is totally formed, you will start to feel more and more pain, but if you keep on a wealthy weight and walk regularly with adequate shoes, this pain must be off when baby born.

back pain usually starts when your belly starts to really pop out, the babys weight pulls on your lower back and can cause pain. when you are much further along you will notice if you stand sideways in a mirror that you back sinks in alot more than before

Center of gravity – your center of gravity will gradually move forward as your uterus and baby grow, which causes your posture to change
Additional weight – your developing pregnancy and baby create additional weight that your back must support
Posture or position – poor posture, excessive standing, and bending over can trigger or escalate the pain you experience in your back
Stress – stress usually finds the weak spot in the body, and because of the changes in your pelvic area, you may experience an increase in back pain during stressful periods of your pregnancy
How can you prevent or minimize back pain during pregnancy?
Back pain may not be prevented completely, but there are things that you can do to reduce the severity or frequency. Here are a few steps you can take to help reduce the back pain you are experiencing:
Use exercises approved by your health care provider that support and help strengthen the back and abdomen
Squat to pick up something versus bending over
Avoid high heels and other shoes that do not provide adequate support
Avoid sleeping on your back
Wear a support belt under your lower abdomen
Make sure your back is aligned using a chiropractor
Get plenty of rest. Elevating your feet is also good for your back “

Backaches occur in pregnant women because the uterus is expanding and putting pressure on your spine. Later in pregnancy, when your belly is bigger, you get backpain because you are compensating for the change in your center of gravity. In a normal person the center of gravity is right over your hips, when you get pregnant, the rapid change causes your center of gravity to move forward, causing you to compensate by slightly leaning back.
